Our reach: driving positive change through policy advocacy

We believe that our involvement in industry associations and responsible-investment organisations helps us shape the policy architecture that governs markets. This is a core part of our approach to responsible investing: by sitting at the heart of the conversation, we can drive standards and contribute towards the creation of a more sustainable future.

We actively participate in a wide variety of investor associations and collaborative initiatives. Of particular importance is the Principles for Responsible Investment, for which we chaired the drafting committee and became a founding signatory.

Another notable initiative is the 300 Club, which our CEO, Saker Nusseibeh CBE, founded in 2011. The 300 Club is an independent group of leading investment professionals from across the globe, which aims to respond to an urgent need to raise uncomfortable and fundamental questions about the very foundations of the investment industry and investing.

The ways to effect positive change are manifold. They include taking part in corporate-social-responsibility activities, being involved in standard-setting industry associations and – perhaps most importantly – joining in the conversation about how business can help create a greener and more responsible future.

At the international business of Federated Hermes, we are guided by the conviction that responsible investing is the best way to create long-term wealth. Below, we detail our involvement in initiatives that we believe will help achieve this.
