London-headquartered SSP is the world’s second-largest travel concession caterer, operating about 2,700 units across 36 countries, with approximately one third of its revenues coming from outside Europe. The company has improved markedly on both governance and sustainability issues in the last few years. The board has been heavily refreshed and governance practices have matured. From virtually no sustainability reporting and limited internal initiatives back in 2017, the company has established a comprehensive sustainability strategy which includes meaningful measurable targets across key areas.
