EOS selected by Credit Suisse Pension Fund for stewardship services

EOS, the stewardship team at investment manager Federated Hermes, has announced that it has been appointed by the Pension Fund of Credit Suisse Group, one of the largest pension funds in Switzerland. EOS will provide engagement services across the Fund’s £4.6bn corporate equity and bond assets. The news follows the Q1 announcement that EOS now advises on over $1tn1 of assets globally.

Dr. Hans-Christoph Hirt, Head of EOS at Federated Hermes, said: “Now more than ever, companies require a social licence to operate, which is underpinned by a corporate purpose centred on being sustainable and creating long-term value for its stakeholders. Through active stewardship and meaningful engagement, we look to protect and enhance the value of our clients’ assets and safeguard their reputation.  We look forward to working with the Pension Fund of Credit Suisse and undertaking effective stewardship on the companies it invests in on behalf of its beneficiaries, addressing the full range of sustainability issues they are facing.”

EOS is one of the world’s leading stewardship services, advising on over $1tn on behalf of its clients. In 2019, the EOS team engaged with 1,043 companies on 2,854 environmental, social, governance, strategy, risk and communication issues and objectives.

Thomas Isenschmid, Chairman ESG Committee at Pension Fund of Credit Suisse Group (Switzerland) added: “As a pension fund with a long-term and sustainable investment strategy, we seek active and structured dialogue with companies. We are confident that our engagement as part of our investment strategy will promote sustainable development in a results-oriented manner over the long-term. We are looking forward to working successfully with EOS on implementing our engagement strategy."
