Infrastructure

The Hermes Infrastructure team have collectively been investing in and managing infrastructure assets for the past 25 years. Having worked at some of the world’s leading infrastructure asset management, advisory and financial services firms, the team are well placed to identify, analyse, execute, manage and monitor high quality investment opportunities.

The team have successfully deployed £2.9bn* of investor capital into a diversified portfolio of assets since 2010, and enjoy deep relationships with some of the world’s leading institutional investors.

Hermes Infrastructure has recently been awarded Infrastructure Manager of the Year in the 2017 Global Investor Awards, Infrastructure Manager of the Year 2016 in the FT Pension and Investment Provider Awards and Infrastructure Manager of the Year 2016 in the European Pensions Awards.

Peter has over 30 years of financial services experience including 27 years of global infrastructure investing. He joined Hermes Infrastructure in late 2010 as Head of Infrastructure and has since led all fundraising and investment activity including the raising and deployment of HIF I and all co-investments. Peter chairs the IIC and oversees the management of the Hermes Infrastructure team. His previous roles include Global Head of Infrastructure at Babcock & Brown where he was involved in the origination and management of more than 170 (US$25bn) of infrastructure assets globally and Associate Director at Westpac Banking Corporation, focusing on project finance and advisory services. Peter qualified as a Bachelor of Business at Swinburne University, Melbourne. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor.

Perry has over 20 years of experience as a transaction lawyer primarily working in infrastructure investment across all sectors. Perry joined Hermes Infrastructure in 2012 becoming a Partner in 2013. He oversees the structuring, analysis, transition and management of infrastructure investments and is a member of the IIC. He is a director on various portfolio company boards, including the board of the Thames Water holding company. Previously a Partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, he was also Asia Managing Partner, Global Head of Finance and a member of the firm’s executive committee. He was Independent Chairman of Connect Plus from 2010-2014, the consortium company responsible for the upgrade and maintenance of the M25 under a 25 year PPP contract. Perry is a qualified solicitor and holds a BA Law (Hons) from North East London Polytechnic and an LLM from the University of Bristol.

Robert has over ten years of experience investing in infrastructure globally. Robert joined Hermes Infrastructure in 2016 as Partner responsible for originating and executing new investments and managing existing portfolio companies on behalf of Hermes Infrastructure clients. He sits on the IIC. He joined from the CPP Investment Board (‘CPPIB’) where he worked for nine years in both Toronto and London. As a member of the infrastructure investments team at CPPIB, Robert was responsible for executing large-scale direct infrastructure investments in multiple jurisdictions and acted as a Board Director of major infrastructure companies in Europe and Australia, including as a Director of Associated British Ports. Robert's early career was in civil engineering in the UK and New Zealand. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Queen's University in Canada and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.

Sion has over nine years of financial services experience of which eight have been focused on infrastructure investing. He joined Hermes Infrastructure in 2011 and is responsible for the sourcing, analysis, due diligence and monitoring of investments. Sion is a director on selected portfolio company boards. In Sion’s previous role as Senior Executive at Ernst & Young he provided infrastructure advisory services to private markets and public sector clients, focusing on the renewable energy sector. He holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford and is a Chartered Accountant.

Emma has over 15 years of financial services experience of which ten have been focused on the infrastructure sector. She joined Hermes Infrastructure in 2013 and is primarily responsible for the monitoring of investments across the infrastructure portfolio, with team involvement in deal sourcing, analysis and due diligence. She is a director on selected portfolio company boards. Emma manages the quarterly reporting to investors with input from the Finance and Investor Relations teams. In her previous role as a Director at Deloitte LLP, she focused on providing assurance, advisory and transaction-related services to listed, private and infrastructure fund-owned businesses in the UK and globally. Emma holds a BA in Accounting and Law from the University of Newcastle and is a Chartered Accountant.

Kirsty has over seven years of fund raising and investor relations experience, all of which have been in the infrastructure sector. She joined Hermes Infrastructure in 2016 and is an Investment Manager in the Infrastructure Team focused on business development and supporting all infrastructure capital raising activities. In her previous role as Investor Relations Manager at Equitix Investment Management Limited, she was responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with global institutional investors and consultants, and developing and managing fund raising strategies across several funds and managed accounts. Kirsty holds a BA in Sociology & Social Policy from the University of Durham.

Lauryn has over seven years of experience in infrastructure investing. She joined Hermes Infrastructure in 2012 and is responsible for the sourcing, analysis, due diligence and monitoring of investments across the infrastructure sector. In her previous role at Macquarie Capital, Lauryn provided infrastructure advisory services to private market clients relating to acquisition and refinancing processes with a focus on power, utilities and transport infrastructure transactions. Lauryn holds a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Nick has over six years of experience in infrastructure investing. He joined Hermes Infrastructure in 2011 as an Analyst and is now an Associate responsible for the modelling, analysis and monitoring of investments focused in the renewable energy and regulated utilities sectors. Nick has also worked on several successful divestments as part of Hermes Infrastructure’s ongoing management of its portfolio activities. Nick has a BA in Economics from the University of the West of England.

Rhianydd has over eight years of financial services experience including four years within the infrastructure sector. She joined the infrastructure investment team as an associate in September 2014 and is primarily responsible for the structuring, analysis, execution and monitoring of investments. Prior to joining Hermes Infrastructure, she was a member of the Hermes legal team, where she advised the BT Pension Scheme on investments in a range of asset classes including infrastructure. Previously, she qualified as a solicitor in the investment funds team at Reed Smith LLP advising both investors and managers on a range of investment related issues. Rhianydd completed part of her training in Reed Smith’s corporate, insolvency and commercial real estate teams. She holds a LLB in Law, and an LPC, both from the University of Nottingham.

Belen joined Hermes Infrastructure in 2015 and is responsible for the modelling, analysis and monitoring of investments across the infrastructure sector. Previously she was an analyst at investment bank Nomura International PLC. Belen has a BA in Business Administration from the ESADE Business School. Belen has over four years of financial service experience.

Alexandra joined Hermes Infrastructure in September 2017 having previously been seconded to Hermes Infrastructure in 2015-2016. She has over 15 years of financial services experience. Alexandra is responsible for the ongoing monitoring and valuation of portfolio investments across the Hermes Infrastructure mandates. Her responsibilities will include the transition phase from the final stages of deal execution as well as the valuation process and quarterly reporting to investors. In her previous role as an Assistant Director at EY LLP based in Paris, New York and London, she focused on providing business valuation services to a number of infrastructure Funds and Private Equity clients. Alexandra holds two Master degrees in Corporate Finance from La Sorbonne University, Paris, France.

Gioia joined Hermes Infrastructure in October 2017 and is responsible for the analysis and ongoing monitoring of investments across the infrastructure portfolio. She joined from Whitehelm Capital where she was an Analyst in the infrastructure equity team. Gioia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management and a Master of Science in Accounting, Corporate Finance and Control from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
