Robert joined the Real Estate division of Federated Hermes Private Markets in 2020 after spending 2018/19 at the firm on secondment. He is responsible for the construction of innovative sustainable and impact investment strategies underpinned by the interdisciplinary integration of ecological, climatological, social, economic and financial models. Robert recently led the collaborative development of the firm’s UK Nature Impact investment strategy. He is the joint head of the strategy’s investment management team.

Robert is an expert author for the CFA on Climate Investment and Climate-Economy modelling. He is a Visiting Fellow at the Global Systems Institute, University of Exeter. Robert has spoken at the UK Committee on Climate Change on the financing of climate change adaptation and nature-based resilience measures, and was invited by the Chief Scientific Advisor to the Scottish Government to talk about peatland restoration investment at COP26. Robert is the Founding Chair of the UK Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), a buy-side/sell-side initiative representing more than £6 trillion in assets. He is a member of the Expert Advisory Group for the UK Biochar Demonstrator project, a collaboration across academia and industry which is run out of HMG’s GGR (Greenhouse Gas Removal) programme as part of the UK’s strategic response to Net Zero. Robert is also a member of the Expert Advisory Group for the UK GGR Peatland Demonstrator project, which is chaired by the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. Robert has an interdisciplinary MSc from the London School of Economics, at which he studied under a full scholarship. Robert is the Disability Lead and Social Mobility Co-Lead on the Federated Hermes Inclusion Committee.
