Credit Pulse: market update - 20 November 2020

What might the outcome of the US presidential election mean for emerging-market debt? And what part could oil-and-gas debt issuers play in a new low-carbon economy? These are some of the questions that the Credit team answers in our latest Credit Pulse webcast.

Andrew Jackson, Head of Fixed Income, is joined by his colleagues in the Credit team in our monthly Credit Pulse webcast. Talking to Nachu Chockalingam, Senior Credit Portfolio Manager, Andrew discussed the implications of the US election result and what this could mean for emerging-market debt. Audra Delport CFA, Deputy Head of Credit Research, also joins the webcast and takes a deep-dive into the role that oil-and-gas debt issuers could play in a decarbonising world, considering how the transition towards low-carbon technologies might affect their business models. Fraser Lundie, Head of Hermes Credit, then provides an update on our Global High Yield Strategy, before Andrew closes the webcast with a summary of the lessons learnt this year and our view on how fixed income might fare in 2021.
