With over a decade of global corporate governance and sustainable development experience working in the heart of the British civil service to large asset management firms, Daniel’s current role involves spearheading responsible investment activities at the UK’s largest corporate retirement plan, the BT Pension Scheme (£40bn+).
Stéphanie Lachance – Corporate Secretary, Vice President Responsible Investment, PSP Investments
Stéphanie Lachance joined PSP Investments in December 2006 as corporate secretary. She was appointed vice president Responsible Investment in addition to her corporate secretary function in June 2012. Before joining PSP Investments, Stéphanie was senior legal counsel Compliance and assistant corporate secretary at Quebecor Media and its subsidiaries and held several positions as legal counsel and manager at the Montreal Exchange, the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Autorités des marchés financiers. Stéphanie received her Law Degree (LLB) from Université de Montréal and is a member of the Quebec Bar. Over the years, she has developed expertise in the areas of corporate law, securities, governance and compliance.
Stephanie Leaist – Managing Director, Head of Sustainable Investing, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board
Stephanie oversees all of CPPIB’s sustainable investing activities, including direct and collaborative engagements, proxy voting and the integration of environmental, social and governance factors across all of CPPIB’s investment activities. In a prior role at CPPIB from 2002 to 2012, Stephanie was a senior principal in the Private Investments department. In that role, Stephanie was instrumental in building CPPIB’s private equity funds portfolio, developing its global private equity funds strategy and participating on numerous fund advisory boards. Prior to joining CPPIB in 2002, Stephanie was principal of Ludwick & Leaist, a corporate consulting firm. She also practised corporate/commercial and securities law with McCarthy Tétrault and earned her Chartered Accountant designation with Coopers & Lybrand. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Law degrees from the University of Toronto.
Mark Walker – Managing Director, Global Chief Investment Officer, Univest Company
Mark is managing director and global chief investment officer of the Univest Company, Unilever’s internal investment group. The Univest Company oversees the investments of Unilever's pension plans in over 40 countries. Prior to joining Unilever, Mark was a partner at Mercer and head of the London Investment Consulting Unit. Mark has over 20 years of experience in actuarial, pensions and investment work. While at Mercer he was the lead consultant to Unilever in relation to the set-up and ongoing advice to Unilever's multi-country asset pooling vehicles.
Faith Ward – Chief Responsible Investment and Risk Officer, Environment Agency Pension Fund
Faith’s whole career has been dedicated to integrating and reporting on environmental, social and governance risks in finance and investment. Initially focusing on the accounting and company law, she has been with the Pension Fund Management Team since 2002. Faith leads engagement with the fund management industry and is involved in industry-wide initiatives to improve standards in responsible investment, corporate engagement and fund governance and reporting. She is currently chair of the Reporting and Assessment Steering Committee for the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Investment.
