Hermes Investment Management, the £30.8 billion manager, has announced that Lin Chew has joined its Asia Pacific business development team as a Director, reporting to Jakob Nilsson, Head of Business Development, APAC as of 8th January.

Based in Singapore, Lin will be responsible for managing engagement with the company’s clients and prospects across the region as it continues to grow its local footprint. Last year, Hermes saw significant inflows from wholesale and institutional APAC investors across its suite of investment and stewardship products, notably its Emerging Markets and Infrastructure strategies, highlighting the successful growth of the company’s presence in the region. Lin’s focus will include providing analysis and insight into Asian markets, helping raise third party assets and delivering on new business targets.

Lin has deep experience working with investors, distributors and consultants across Asia, having most recently been in business development for Winton Capital Asia Limited. Here, she helped manage and develop the strategic growth of the business in the region, successfully taking the firm into a number of new markets. She has also held roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Lehman Brothers, Citibank and PwC.

Lin has an MBA from New York University and a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University.

Jakob Nilsson, Head of Business Development, APAC at Hermes Investment Management, said:

“Lin’s background and expertise will be a powerful complement to our activities as we build out our business in APAC. Her strong relationships with wholesale and institutional investors will further enhance the progress we have made in the region and we look forward to working with her.”
