Federated Hermes expands Fixed Income team with Investment Director hire

Reflecting the growing interest from clients and prospects in fixed-income solutions, Federated Hermes today announced the appointment of Anna Karim as Investment Director in its Fixed Income team in London.

In this newly-created role, Anna will be a client-facing representative of Federated Hermes’ fixed income capabilities including public credit, structured credit, private debt, asset-based debt and multi-asset credit. She will be the primary contact for client coverage and marketing within these investment teams. Anna will ensure products across the fixed income platform are aligned to the needs of clients and will work closely with the portfolio managers to develop a pipeline of future marketable products. Anna will report to Mark Bruen, Head of Fixed Income Solutions.

Anna joins Federated Hermes from Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) where she spent 10 years of her career, most recently as a managing director. During her tenure with BAML, she was also responsible for building and managing a high-yield sales team and covered all European credit products and illiquid business for the bank’s largest clients.

Anna also took a prominent role on a number of committees at BAML outside of her role, such as the Women’s leadership committee, the diversity and inclusion committee and the Power of 10 mentoring initiative. Prior to starting at BAML, Anna spent four years at Citi working in the credit sales team. Anna started her career in the industry holding similar sales roles at UBS and Credit Suisse.

Andrew Jackson, Head of Fixed Income, at the international business of Federated Hermes said: “Clients are understanding that now more than ever, flexible and diligent fixed income investors can offer risk-adjusted returns through careful portfolio construction and risk management. Anna’s appointment reaffirms our commitment to creating product solutions in line with our client needs and reflects a growing demand for the asset class. Anna’s knowledge of the fixed income landscape will prove as a huge asset and we welcome her to the team.”
