EOS at Federated Hermes has announced the hire of Ross Teverson to lead its engagement team for Asia and Global Emerging Markets.

Based in London, Ross will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of EOS’s Engagement Plan for corporate and public policy, and market best practices across Asia and Global Emerging Markets. Over the course of 2022, EOS engaged with 270 companies across these regions.

Ross has deep experience in asset management and stewardship, with more than 20 years’ investing in and engaging with companies across the Asia and Emerging Market regions.

He was previously Head of Strategy for global emerging market equities at Jupiter Asset Management – where he held the additional roles of member of the stewardship committee and leadership group. Prior to this, Ross held various investment-focused positions at Standard Life Investments.

Federated Hermes now has over 60 professionals working across its stewardship and responsibility teams, making it one of the largest stewardship resources in the world.

Bruce Duguid, Head of Stewardship at Federated Hermes Limited: “I am very pleased to welcome Ross to the team, with his deep experience in stewardship and company engagement. Asia and the Emerging Markets are particularly important for our stewardship clients and someone of Ross’s calibre will be a significant addition to our global platform.”

Ross Teverson, Regional Team Lead – Asia & GEMs at Federated Hermes Limited: “Global momentum behind shareholder proposals on climate and human rights remain on the increase, with  Asia and Emerging Markets at the forefront of this expansion. . We are also seeing Asian regulators progressively encourage the adoption and disclosure of Paris aligned transition strategies. The team and I look forward to broadening the climate conversation from a focus on environmental risk to amplify the social risk of failing to ensure a just transition, alongside our existing programme of engagement.”
