Biography

Rob Groves

Regional Development Director, MEPC

Rob is Regional Development Director at MEPC, leading the Birmingham office and until recently heading up the £700m Paradise redevelopment in the cultural and civic centre of Birmingham from its inception to its delivery. Rob was responsible for all aspects of the project leading the planning, land acquisition, expert witness lead for the public inquiry, design, construction, lettings and commercial negotiations for Paradise, a transformational scheme for Birmingham and widely regarded as the UK’s most important city centre developments outside of London. Rob is now responsible for securing the next urban transformational project working with colleagues at MEPC and Federated Hermes. Rob has over 35 years of planning, design and construction experience. Prior to joining MEPC, Rob was Regional Director for Argent and prior to that an Equity Partner at a large multi-disciplinary consulting engineer practice. His experience includes mixed use residential, commercial, industrial schemes as well as major public sector infrastructure.Rob was the Midlands Chair of the British Council offices and is currently the chair of the Town Centre Task Force for the West Midland Combined Authority.
