Biography

Mike joined in May 2023 as a Senior Investment Analyst in the Nature Based Solutions team. His main responsibilities include evaluating, underwriting and managing nature-based impact investment opportunities, as part of portfolio construction. He will also manage a number of strategic relationships with individuals or organisations as part of the execution of the strategy. Prior to joining, Mike worked at Tilhill, one of the UK’s leading forestry and NbS companies, advising clients on investment opportunities in natural capital with a focus on timber and carbon. Before that, Mike worked for Buccleuch, one of the UK’s biggest landowners, initially as an estate forester managing over 10,000 acres of mixed commercial and biodiverse woodland and then as their Head of Project Management. In the latter role, Mike chaired the project investment committee, set up and managed a large programme of property disposals and oversaw a range of projects, including in renewables, agricultural diversification, property development and tourism. Mike has over 30 years’ experience working in rural land management. He is a Chartered Forester and holds an MBA from the Open University.
