26 November 2020

Federated Hermes is today announcing the appointment of James Wardlaw as a Partner in its Infrastructure business. He will be based in London and report to Hamish de Run, Head of Infrastructure, starting in December.

Wardlaw will have primary responsibility for client relationships across Federated Hermes Infrastructure. In doing so he will steer capital raising efforts globally, including enhancing client engagement on new solution design, working closely with Federated Hermes Private Markets business development team. Wardlaw will join the Federated Hermes Infrastructure Investment Committee.

Wardlaw joins from Campbell Lutyens, a firm he joined in 2011, where he was Head of Infrastructure globally for eight years and then, latterly, Vice Chairman. Hamish de Run, Head of Federated Hermes Infrastructure, said:

“With James’ appointment we are acquiring an outstanding professional with a long and successful track record working with investors. The experience he brings will be invaluable at a time when our Responsible Investment and mega-trends thematic approach, such as climate change and energy transition, will make infrastructure assets even more attractive to investors. This appointment, and that of Luke Bugeja who joined as an Operating Partner earlier this year, signifies our wider ambition to develop and grow Federated Hermes Infrastructure and underscores the firm’s continued commitment to Private Markets.”

James Wardlaw said:

“Federated Hermes Infrastructure possesses a strong team under Hamish’s leadership, and I am delighted to be joining it. With the commitment to Responsible Investing that is central to Federated Hermes, together with a focus on Core and Core+ infrastructure, I firmly believe that Federated Hermes is well positioned to serve the needs of both its existing clients and a wider range of new investors.”
