In his latest quarterly Economic Outlook Neil Williams, Senior Economic Adviser to the International business of Federated Hermes examines the impact that various pandemic-related stimulus packages have had on both global government debt and the efficacy of monetary and fiscal tools available to policy-makers. He argues that this growing debt-pile and the absence of effective economic levers will present policy-makers with issues down the line, perhaps most likely those that we have come to associate with Japan.
