David is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and was appointed Non-Executive Director of HFML in July 2011. Currently, David is Senior Independent Director of Countrywide plc, Senior Independent Director at TR Property Investment Trust plc, and Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee of Kames Capital plc. Prior to joining Hermes, David was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Aviva General Insurance UK Division, and between 2003 and 2007 he was the CFO of Morley Fund Management, the asset management arm of the Aviva Group. Previous to this, he spent nine years at MG Group Plc (now MG Investments), where he was Group Finance Director, responsible for financial management and strategic development of the group.
